    Аннотация: The VIII Russian-Finnish Symposium on Radio Astronomy is dedicated to 275th anniversary of Russian Academy of Sciences and to the 160th anniversary of the Central (Pulkovo) Astronomical Observatory as well. This symposium is an international meeting on solar physics and interstellar matter with an emphasis on radio observations, particularly those with the RATAN-600 and the Metsähory radiotelescope. The previous symposium was held in Otaniemi (Finland) in October 1996 during the URSI/IEEE/IRC XXI Convention on Radio Science. On this occasion recent radio observations of the Sun and molecular clouds are summarized, interpretations of observed events are given, and future coordinate observations with radio instrumentation are discussed.
